Beginner Presence Program
Are you:
- Ready to live a more present life?
- Have you been curious about mindfulness and meditation but not sure where to start?
- Do you struggle with feeling all over the place and running through life like a dodgeball game, yet crave more intention and focus?
It starts with developing a formal mindfulness practice that is sustained over time.
This group is designed to support people in learning the basics of mindfulness plus create the support and structure needed for learners to establish a daily formal practice. A commitment to practicing a minimum of 10 minutes per day the duration of the program and to keeping a practice journal is an important part of success and an expectation of all participants.
The program agenda includes:
- Mindfulness Unpacked: What does it mean and common misunderstandings.
- Benefits of mindfulness and tapping into your Why?
- Exposure to and practicing different mindfulness practices
- Establishing a formal meditation practice: What it (really) takes!
- Attitude and impact on the practice
- Barriers and obstacles to sticking with it
- Informal mindfulness practices (presence off the cushion)
Structure & Logistics:
- Next Calm 101 will begin in Spring 2022
- 6 Group Sessions; Wednesdays from 11:30 am-1 pm EST
- 2 Individual virtual 1:1 coaching session
- Commitment to a daily practice with a practice journal
- Ongoing support via email as needed
- Optional: Weekly 20-minute virtual group meditation
- Maximum of 12 people per group
